The Iraqi Parliament has decided to take the whole month of August off for vacation. How absurd! Our troops are dying every day to provide security in this country while a political framework is built. And the Iraqi’s decide to take a month-long vacation during this crucial time in their history. I think they’re telling us just how much they appreciate our efforts…
The Iraqi people have gone through more than I can imagine, and they derserve a vacation more almost anyone. Having said that, the thought of someone going on vacation (for an entire month no less) while our men and women fight and die for them seems unimaginable. Just think if you helped a friend move and he told you thanks for the help and by the way I’ll be at the beach while you move my furniture…now think how bad that sounds if you said I’ll be at the beach while you risk your life in battle for me.
